The idea
Working with a global powerhouse like Red Bull is always a major milestone, especially for an event as forward-thinking as Red Bull Basement at San Francisco's Pier 48. For this tech-focused showcase, the brand came with a precise, premium vision centered around a virtual, digital can.

To bring this to life, they partnered with Golgotha, where I worked as an Art Director specialized in motion design to craft part of this visual universe. I was responsible for animating the digital Red Bull can, developing the core assets that defined the high-energy, futuristic tone of the can presented at key moments.
The process
A project of this scale requires technical discipline and constant iteration. Working alongside an exceptionally skilled team, we made the most of what Cinema 4D and After Effects could offer to shape the Red Bull universe.

Our workflow was strictly evolutionary, building up complexity step-by-step through focused animation tests. By designing these assets to be highly flexible and modular, we ensured the final motion system could easily adapt to different screens and contexts, translating simple initial concepts into a seamless, high-impact stage experience.

Our creative process uses a rigorous system of motion iterations to refine complex transitions and keep the visual narrative absolutely clear.
Red Bull can reveal
Many key moments of the shows presentation, built up to this centerpiece asset: the digital circuit transforming into the iconic, cold Red Bull can.
I used Cinema 4D to animate this transition over Charles’ custom texture. I was focusing on a realistic, material-driven morph. Crafting this sequence was an absolute pleasure, bringing a highly inspiring, cinematic energy to the main screen.
The Logic of Iteration
Great design is built layer by layer, not found in a single draft. For the digital Red Bull can’s entrance, we started with a simple movement and gradually built up the complexity.
Through focused animation tests, we refined the timing, rotation, and circuit transitions step-by-step to find the exact rhythm needed to elevate the show.

One Pattern. Infinite Assets.
Every great show needs a visual backbone. Charles created this generative cyberpunk circuit to give us the team a consistent background texture for the event's stage graphics.
By using his custom pattern as my starting block, I was able to build out the motion design and breathe life into the digital Red Bull can, seamlessly linking the 2D brand assets with our live 3D elements.
